Purpose

Docebo is a e-learning platform to - Docebo says -

  • manage users
  • manage learning content and learning objects
  • manage votes and results
  • manage user interactions
  • monitor user acitivity

What it does

Docebo offers tools for the creation and managing of e-learning courses.

Teachers can create a course, add files to this course, start a Docebo-own forum or wiki, run a video-conference or use a chat for synchronous communication. In the statistic area course administrators see also how their courses is already used by the subscribed learners.

Learners enter Docebo and see their course catalog with all courses they have subscribed or can subscribe to. They can choose a course and use the offered services and contents in the course.

How can it be used for creation of OERs

Due to missing or unsufficient authoring tools Docebo cannot be used to create OER. Necessary export features are not available, e.g. to re-use a Wiki page that has been created in Docebo.

How can it be used for consumption of OERs

Even if DOCEBO is not certified as SCORM 1.2 compliant, it was possible to run SCORM modules in a trial. Therefore it can also be used for the consumption of SCORM-based OER. The only other import function is for files.

How can it be used for reuse of OERs

SCORM-compliant OERs can be reused in Docebo courses.

License support

There is no built-in support for licenses, or license requirements.

Standards / Compatibility

It is possible to run SCORM 1.2 modules in DOCEBO. But according to the ADL website, DOCEBO is not certified and has therefore not passed the SCORM conformance test suite successfully. So users have no guarantee that SCORM 1.2 courses are running properly and that the LMS can receive user tracking data according to the standard.

  1. Visit the website of DOCEBO and choose one of the three default roles (Administrator, Teacher, Learner).
